Laurel Pediatric & Teen Medical Center now offers the Covid-19 vaccines to our patients, Ages 5-17.
For now, we are starting with the vaccines for children aged 12-17 years. We will have the clinic for Covid-19 vaccines open on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, effective 11/13/2021.
We prefer that the calls for scheduling be made at least one week ahead of time and parents must ensure that the appointments are kept to avoid wastage of the vaccines, because once thawed out, the vaccine cannot be returned back to the storage units for future use.
We will be providing information in the future with regards to the availability of vaccines for children aged 5-11. The prevailing protocol for vaccine administration requires a 15-30 minute stay in the office after injection of the vaccine. This post-vaccination wait time will allow our staff to monitor for possible anaphylactic reactions before the patient is allowed to leave our office.
Two forms of paperwork (a questionnaire and a consent form) are to be completed before vaccine administration.
